Introducing 2017 Summer Coding Robotics Camps @ The National Videogame Museum

The National Videogame Museum (NVM) is proud to be hosting a series of iSTEM Labs Summer Camps for children ages 7-14. The camps focus in on Game Coding, Smartphone Apps, Drone/Robot Wars, Minecrafting Coding/Modding, and 3-D Animation. The camps offer Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced skill levels so that all students despite how much or how little prior experience they have can dive right in to the fun! Students can even attend multiple weeks to rise through the ranks and receive more advanced "coding belts".

Whether you are new to coding or have attended our previous camps, there are over 300 fun, hands on projects that can help students advance to the next level in their Game Coding, Smart Phone Apps, Drone WArs/Robotics, Mincraft Modding, and 3-D Animation projects. Students are to be tested on the first day and placed in the Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced group. Levels typically require about 15-30 hours before passing on to the next level. "Coding Belts" (A colored slap on wristband with a built in USB drive.) are awarded when a level is passed. Classes typically have a 1:8 Teacher-Student ratio, with each group having a separate instructor. All instructors are college grads, background checked, and CPR certified!

Children are grouped by ages, either 7-10 years or 11-14. No typing skills or special skills are required for beginner levels. Campers will be assessed at the beginning of the camp and placed in the appropriate skill group for their age. Returning campers will be given brand new projects to work on. All participating campers will receive a free ticket to the museum. No laptops or iPads are required for the summer camp--all equipment will be provided. Campers must secure their own transport to NVM as we cannot offer bus transport at this time. Families that sign up additional children will receive a 10% discount on their 2nd and 3rd child.

The Camps run for five days, Monday through Friday, from 8:30AM to 11:30AM.  The first session begins Jun 12th, 2017, the second on July 10th, 2017, and the third on August 7th, 2017
